Spring Break in South Carolina!

EMBARK WITH ME FOR SPRING BREAK!! This year we tackled a bucket list item on the east coast and spent the week in South Carolina! Flying into Charleston and exploring it’s colorful streets for the day was an excellent start to our trip. Treated ourselves first thing fresh off the plane to Caviar & Banana’s, an adorable cafe on George Street right by Charleston College. From there we admired the coast line, saw Rainbow Row and the classic pineapple fountain in the downtown area.

What to Do

Admiring wasn’t enough for us, we jumped in the car and drove down the coast to the beach! Thrilled to see the shoreline at Myrtle Beach, the water was our first destination! Once our toes were sandy and soaked, we checked into our Air-BnB for the night. The next day was all about the beach!

Where to Eat

Soaked up the rays and marveled at the waves! Hot Tomato for lunch earned a 10/10 rating from me. Had a great vibe & aesthetic and made a delicious pizza pie & fettuccine alfredo!

Pier 14, an amazing seafood place right on the water, was our favorite dinner place. The views were incredible and the place was bursting with excitement. The pier stretched out over the water with an outdoor bar area and seating. We enjoyed Hurricane Cocktails while we waited for our table and listened to the live music. Ordered the shark bites, salmon with mashed potatoes, and New York cheesecake. Ended the night with a sunset beach walk to make it a perfect evening!

On our second to last day there we split our time between the beach and Duplin Winery. Touring their beautiful vineyard and doing a tasting with the wonderful sommelier is a must! This place was so fun with live music, vibrant staff, and delicious wines paired with cheese & crackers.

What to Do

Ended our trip back in Charleston for the day. Toured the shops on Main St., the City Market, Charleston’s Candy Kitchen and had a mouth-watering brunch at Virginia’s on King. Virginia’s is known for their fried chicken and being in the south we could not leave without trying it. It definitely did not disappoint topping my fluffy waffles with two pieces of boneless chicken. Seriously if there was one meal I’d like to eat every week, it would be this chicken recipe! The whole staff was so welcoming and nice, even with a packed dining room and a long line out the door. The bartender treated our table to a round of mimosas to accompany our fresh fruit starters and made it the perfect brunch meal before we headed to the airport!

Where to Stay

The best beach vacation means a rental right on the coast! Check out our favorite airbnb on the coast!

Highly recommend staying a night or two in Charleston! While you’re in the heart of SC, spend the night at the Charleston Harbor Resort & Marina for fabulous views of the water. If you’re looking to stay closer to downtown, you can’t go wrong with the Indigo Inn or the unique art hotel, The Vendue.
